Sticky Buddy

Sticky Buddy

The latest As Seen on TV Lint Roller to hit the airwaves is the Sticky Buddy. This roller has a blue handle with a yellow sticky surface and also has the yellow spikes on the head to help scrape up embedded lint, such as in carpet. Unlike the Schticky, which is pitched by Vince, the Sticky Buddy infomercial features Anthony Sullivan.

One memorable demo of this product in action is picking up rows of coins as they stick to the adhesive roll.

The Sticky Buddy comes with a smaller, portable version that you can store away or take on the go. You also receive a larger version with a handle that works much like a mop, in order to work on lint in larger areas.

The Sticky Buddy is brought to you by Telebrands, who has recently gone on the PR assault against Vince’s Schticky, showing that their Sticky Buddy is the “#1 Lint Roller” in America. So the quest for Lint Roller dominance is in full swing and has many asking the question – which came first? Who is ripping off whom? Or does it really matter?

These look to be essentially the same product and may come down to who the better pitchman is. In one corner we have Vince Offer and in the other, Anthony Sullivan. The infomercials have many of the same elements, all the way down to a shedding cat in a lap.

Tylor Ross invented something called the Sticky Brush and from what I can tell, Telebrands has bought the licensing for this product and recently trademarked the term Sticky Buddy. So this wouldn’t be the first time that two similar products duked it out in infomercial land and it certainly won’t be the last. Perhaps there’s enough room in America’s hearts to embrace two sticky lint rollers. Only time and your pocketbooks will reveal who the winner ultimately is.

I am very dissatisfied and waentd to return it. I was reading the previous comments. The rep. from the company said just call customer service and they will be quick to help you. Well I had placed at least one call on the voice mail on 2/20/09 and never received a response. I will have to find the other box to find the rest of my notes. When I bought mine, no one said that I only had 30 days for a full refund. I went back to our Mervyns and she was long gone. Then the store closed. Now I finally reached a person who said send in the receipt. Well I’m gonna try to find it, but I bet I can find my check, she said that would not due, I said well it will have a purchase date. ok . So finally after almost a year I have a name and an address to send my Mr. Sticky collection back. I sure hope I get some money back. Wish me luck, please, and if you pray, we need all the prayer we can get. My husband is mr. goodwrench and it has been really hard since late last year.Well here I go. Oh ya, I just spoke with a lady at customer service not 10 minutes ago. Tried calling right back and now get the machine. Really frustrating.

I have a brush that works better than the tape on a lint rloelr. I think it is made of rubber. It has inch-long round rubber bristles really close together and if you brush it lightly over a jacket or pants, the hair just flies off. It is sold as a dog brush so look for it at a pet supply store or in the pet area at target or wal-mart. I used to have 5 cats and this saved my husband’s business clothes!

I bought a mr. stciky last christmas and at first was pleased with it, but after having such a hard time getting it clean and dry, I stopped bothering with it. I would dip it in the warm soapy water, but the stuff didn’t come off, so I had to rub my hand all over the gross stuff to get it off the mr. stciky and then I had a hard time getting it to dry. I purchased a lint free cloth, but the mr stciky stuck to the towel, so by the time i ripped the towel off of it, my mr stciky lost some of its stickiness and the towel is falling apart. Not a very good value since I’m back to using the regular paper lint rollers.
